I’m a short, tattooed crime writer, with a head full of murderous intentions and a profound love of cats and rock music. I’m married to Paul and I have four grown-up children. I’ve previously worked as an Oompa Loompa in a chocolate factory, a night care officer in a residential home, and had my own promotions company. I also co-owned a business involving male strippers and drag queens.

Where I'll Be.
Gwyl Crime Cymru Festival
I'm delighted to be taking part in this year's Gwyl Crime Cymru Festival, which runs from April 25th to April 27th in Aberystwyth. There are loads of excellent events on, and I shall be attending as many as I can. My panel is on Saturday, 26th April at 3.30pm, where I'll be discussing self-publishing with David Penny, A.A. Abbott and Marie Cope. I hope to see some of you there!
Bute Noir, 1st-3rd August 2025.
I'm not doing as many festivals as I usually would this year, but Bute Noir is a must. One of the smaller festivals, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in quality. The brainchild of author Craig Robertson, together with Karen Latto of Print Point Books, this festival has grown in strength each year, and is one I'm guaranteed to support.
Newcastle Noir, 1st-5th December (dates tbc)
Another smaller festival, but one which has grown rapidly over the years. With an energy all of its own, and an impressive programme, this year is sure to be another success.
